"You Will Never Be A Woman"

As a transwoman have you ever been told “You Will Never Be A Woman”. Well yesterday I was told this and I wanted to make a video addressing that statement. I’m not one to like arguments or give time to other people’s ignorance, but I just felt like this statement is way too common and I just wanted to address it.

It’s quite obvious that there are a lot of people in the world that have a difficult time acknowledging other people’s struggles, no matter what the issue or situation is. People will feel the need to put their opinion into things they have no experience about and don’t understand how people can experience challenges different from the ones they face. And that’s the definition of ignorance.

People have and will continue to reject the struggles that people in the LGBTQ+ community face, and continue to see them as the “bad guys”, or the “sinners' ' without being able to acknowledge their struggles and challenges.

Homophobic people have always existed and I’m glad to see that the world is finally starting to see it. These people think our identities are a sickness, a trend, everything but an identity. They pity themselves and see themselves as the victims, finding validation in claiming themselves as the “normal ones”.

Responding To This Statement “You Will Never Be a Woman”, I’ll proudly say:

I will never be a woman, and I will never be a man, I am me. I am not going to let you put me in a box any longer and tell me who I can and cannot be.

I will never try to be anyone else, I will never compete or compare myself with anyone, because I value the story, and the uniqueness of each and every person.

To the person who told me I will never be a woman, trust me I don’t want to be like you, because I’m in my own lane. I don’t compare myself to other people because I’ve learned to love myself. So my advice to everyone dealing with toxic people in their life, is honestly it’s not worth the energy. Don’t surround yourself around those types of people because they’ll just bring you down the rabbit hole with them. Your energy is way too precious to be wasting it on people who don’t deserve it. Let them live with themselves while you focus on improving yours and living your best life.
